There is an “I” in “Team”

Inclusion. The websites of almost all companies have a line on their “About” page (or at least a sentence in the footer) that speaks to their commitment to inclusion. The real tell, however, is in an organization’s actual practice – how it lives that professed value around inclusion and how it responds when it falls short. At Flexwind, it is the job of leadership to actively nurture a culture of inclusion, diversity, appreciation, and respect for all of our current and prospective team members.

Among the products we promise our clients is a “delightful and meaningful” user experience. Essential to our ability to deliver on that promise is a commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful, and safe employee experience. It is my job to make this commitment a reality, and that means addressing barriers to it when I see them – clearly and transparently, no matter where they are and no matter who is implicated.

We welcome the fullness of who you are and honor and appreciate the breadth of the lived experiences you bring to Flexwind. We know that this diversity of identity and experience are fundamental to our ability to build “client intimacy,” “ask hard questions,” “challenge the norm,” and bring “creativity of thought” to our work. These are our strengths. Marginalizing, ridiculing, or diminishing this diversity of identity in any way undermines our mission, goes against our beliefs, and will not be tolerated at any level of this organization.

Please consider this an invitation not only to make me aware of places we might be falling short, but also to share your ideas for how we might better make good on our promises to clients and colleagues.

Sincerely,
Kahni
