Where You Will Work

This position is located in Chantilly, VA.

 

What You Bring

Flexwind is looking for a full-time experienced Senior Systems Engineer to use a holistic approach to design, develop, evaluate, and modify end-to-end systems and systems-oriented products through their entire life cycle.

 

Responsibilities

  • Generate quantifiable requirements based on customer requirements, system planning and design, and acquisition logistics.
  • Ensure requirement compliance through formal verification methods for both client requirements as well as government standards.
  • Translate high level product development strategies into system requirement specification and work with other engineering disciplines to develop lower-level detailed implementation requirements.
  • Establish and coordinate development of standards, practices, and procedures as it relates to the overall product development.
  • Design interfaces and bring system elements together so they work as a whole.
  • Assess performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
  • Participate in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts.
  • Participate in design reviews of components (hardware and software) to ensure applicability to the current system and traceability of requirements through compliance verification and validation.
  • Generate system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures.
  • Review test plans/procedures and ensure they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participate in the testing process to validate requirements.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • 10-12 years with BS/BA in Systems Engineering, Information Systems or similar degree, or 8-10 years with MS/MA, or 5-7 years with Ph.D.
  • Experience in technology portfolio generation and management.
  • Strong systems engineering skills focused on requirements analysis and management.
  • Ability to work across multiple technology areas (infrastructure, operating systems, communications systems, etc.).
  • Ability to work across teams and development types (waterfall/agile).
  • Ability to support customer governance processes, including board presentation and documentation preparation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Customer domain experience.
  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF).
  • Expertise in MS Project, MS Visio, and SharePoint.
